It has been one year now since we moved into our house here in South Dakota. It has been a very good year and now that we are back to fall, I thought I would take a look back...

One year ago, we bought this house, sight unseen. We were living in Florida and had a very trusted friend, who was also a real estate agent, look at this house for us.

This is where we were....

We moved to Florida May 2008 and lived there for about 5 months. We had lived in South Dakota before that for a year. Moving back to South Dakota wasn't a completely new experience for us. Before that we had been living in Alaska.

You might ask, "Why did you leave Florida?" That is a very good question. One that we have asked ourselves a time or two. I can see God's hand in this decision now. Now that it has been a year...

When we saw our house for the first time, we went right to the backyard. We just walked around, marveling at the size of it. In Florida, we didn't have a backyard. In our backyard there was a man made lake with alligators...

We found trees with apples. Apples that were falling on the ground, and many still on the tree waiting to be picked...

I made a lot of applesauce last year....

We didn't have a rake when we first got here. After a while there were a lot of leaves on the ground. Justin couldn't wait for us to get a rake, so he grabbed the next best thing. A broom...

He could really sweep...

This picture reminds me why I am glad to be here. I love to see Katie running...
