Spring Outfits For Girls...
![]()
Every year for Easter I usually buy the girls something extra special to wear. This year I wanted to try making them skirts and shrugs..

I found a really cute skirt pattern from Heather Bailey's blog called the Edith Twirl Skirt. The pattern is not free but I think well worth them money. I also had been saving these pretty pink fabrics for just such a project as this.

Since I didn't start making the girls their outfits until this week, I thought I had better make them a shrug that I know how to make already. Shrug This is my favorite pattern for the shrug and it is so easy. I also like it because it is easy to adjust the sizes.

Now that I have the best of both worlds right here in front of me, I know that this will be a fun project to get done. Fabric and yarn all in one outfit...

The skirt pattern actually makes two skirts layered together. Here are the two skirt before I sewed them together. The shrug for Katie is also done. Now I just have to sew the under skirt and Katie's spring outfit will be complete.

I used a lot of pins. Sewing the gathered lining to the waist of the gathered skirt was challenging without a serger. I know I keep saying I need to get one, but, I really need to get one!

I can't believe how incredibly girly this little outfit is. Both the girls are very feminine when it comes to clothing. I am so blessed to be able to still play dress up. It is almost like having my own dolls to dress. I can't wait to see the girls in their new outfits.

What a great big poofy skirt. I remember wearing a skirt that was full and long when I was a little girl. It was the best feeling in the world. And when I sat down you better believe that I made sure it was fanned around me just like this skirt is. Being a girl is a really good thing...
