A Birthday Cake Review...
![]()
Today we tried a new cake recipe out of the Better Homes and Gardens cook book. It needed to be special because it was for a special occasion...

I thought I had bought a cake mix for Robert and the kids to make for me. It was no where to be found. So, what kind of cake could we make that no one could complain about?

Can you guess what we decided on? Here is a little hint...

I knew that would be too easy. Yes, you guessed right, we made a carrot cake. I have no experience making carrot cakes, no one in our house does for that matter. So we used the Best Ever Carrot Cake in the Better Homes Cook Book. I think it turned out great.

It didn't bake up light and spongy, it is more of a dense cake. I like it that way, it makes me feel like I am eating real food...Less guilt involved.

The cream cheese frosting in the same book is to die for. Absolutely wonderful. We were all fighting over who got to lick the bowl clean. I think we all won...
I whole-heartedly recommend this cake for any of you older ladies that are about to turn 35...You wont even mind that you have lived half of your life...
