Quilt Store Purchases...

I couldn't visit my father-in-law Clyde without stopping by his favorite quilt store, Quilting Connection. Of course, when I say stopping by, I mean shopping...

Lately we have been driving all over to see quilt stores around Iowa and South Dakota. One of the purse patterns that I loved was Grids and Grommets by Indygo Junction. I saw the purse all made up at a quilt shop in Sioux Center, Iowa called Roelofs. Unfortunately they were all out of patterns so I wasn't able to immediately gratify my desire for a new purse pattern...However I did buy the grommets just in case I found the pattern later, and not the grommets. Wouldn't you know it, I did find the pattern in Ames this week at the Quilting Connection. I also found a jelly roll of Neptune fabric that I have been hoping I would get the opportunity to work with. This will be a great project to work on this week.

Here, let me give you a close up look at this fabric. Isn't it fun and pretty, all "rolled" into one?

While I was visiting with Clyde, I saw this Slouchy Bags pattern booklet just laying around. Ladies, I ask you, how many of you go to your father-in-law's house and find something like this? I didn't think so...And he was nice enough to lend it to me. Another great bag pattern just waiting to be sewn up. Can you guess which one I am going to try first?

I even had time to finish needle turn appliqueing my vines on this quilt that I started last summer in Florida. I never thought I would get it done. In fact, I really regretted that I ever conceived the thought of putting a vine border on it at all. But now that it is done, I am quite happy and glad that I did. Sometime in between the socks, bags and general living I will applique the flower petals on...Where ever does the time go? Oh, I forgot, maybe the time flew by while I was napping and eating bon bons...
Happy Quilting!
