Yellow brick road quilt pattern

Summer colors and baby quilts are calling my name this month! Even though I originally bought this fabric for an apron, they will look great in the Yellow Brick Road pattern.

quilt block pieces

I bought the Yellow Brick Road pattern about 2 or 3 years ago and now that I finally gave it shot, I really like it. I am going to be making two of them. This one will be a baby quilt and the other one will be a lap quilt. I love the bright colors, don't you?

blocks

After I cut all of the strips and made the block pieces, making the blocks was so easy. What a fun way to use up my stash. Actually, my stash is dwindling. I am on a fabric diet and don't know when I will be able to buy any again...

I really didn't have enough of this fabric to make a full baby quilt, but I think it will be big enough for a baby to lay on top of. You know, when you first have a baby placing the new little package on the bare floor is inconceivable. So, this should come in handy...

strip piecing

I had a few strips left over. Making a piano key border for the baby quilt was my first idea, but there wasn't enough for that.

So I cut 2 inch strips and sewed them together to make a doll quilt.

Isn't that cute? I think that it will make a great doll quilt for some special girl. Know any one?
