a happy quilt

Every quilt is happier when it finds a home. I finished the House in the Trees quilt and with the help of my husband gave it a place to shine.

The quilting on this quilt went pretty quickly. It took most of a morning to quilt and the rest of the day to sew on the binding. I for one was not going to let this quilt hide in my wardrobe cabinet. I want to see it every chance I can.

machine quilting trees

I liked quilting the trees more than any of the other blocks. I made wavy lines up and down the trees and quilted in clouds in the sky. As usual, my picture doesn't do it justice. I hope you will take my word for it. It looks nice.

hanging a quilt

When ever I walk down stairs this is the first thing I will see. We didn't realize how badly this wall needed a wall-hanging on it. When we had it hung we stepped back to take a look. All of a sudden the whole downstairs looked and felt more homey. The kids felt the same way, since this is their main playing area. Now that I realize how empty the walls are, I feel inspired to make more wall-hangings with an emphasis on looking like a picture. I had better get to work!
