quilts on railing

Spring is definitely in the air! I am so excited to take out my spring quilts but first they need a little airing out...

I admit to being at a loss as to what I should work on next. I finished the girls skirts and shrugs in record time. All of my baby projects are completed. I don't really need any more quilts...

Did I just say that? Shame on me, how could I not need another quilt. Someone out there can always use a quilt....This is one of my favorite quilts from my early years of quilting. I bought the quilt from a quilt store in Bakersfield, California about 7 years ago. I am sure the ladies that sold it to me probably think that I never finished it. I almost didn't, it took me two years to complete it.

This is another dearly loved quilt. This one isn't big enough for our bed, so I lay the nine-patch quilt on first and then I lay this one on top of it. It looks so pretty together. Yep, spring feels like it is going to brighten thinks up around here...

I had these quilts tucked away in a box and they really needed some good airing out. The nine-patch quilt also needed some repair on the binding. I spent a good hour outside sewing it back into place with my dog Sammy at my side. It was really nice to have a buddy sit at my feet while I sewed away.

The kids and I have been outside the last few days picking up sticks and raking leaves. They have been so great about helping and working by my side. It is so nice when children work so willingly and think that they are doing something good. Justin was especially happy to pick up the sticks and rake the leaves because he said he was helping God take care of things. He is such a sweet boy...
