Tuna Salad With Wasa Bread
![]()
During the summer we like to eat light food that doesn't have to be cooked. Tuna salad is a great summer food and when you top it on Wasa bread, it makes a great meal...

If you are like me, you don't like tuna that has the consistency of sawdust. We prefer to buy albacore white chunk tuna. If you break it apart into small pieces it has a great texture for tuna salad.

We love real mayonnaise and I like to add two healthy spoonfuls to the tuna. Not to mention a couple teaspoons of dill relish. Mmmm, so good together, don't you think? I know there are lots of people that don't agree with me, but I am hoping there are lots of people that do!

Wasa bread is a wonderful replacement for regular bread. I love the crisp texture and flavor of the sourdough. They also make rye, mixed grain and wheat. You can usually find it with the crackers, but most of the time I don't find it in a logical place. Your best bet is to ask your grocer which aisle it can be found. Oh, and they don't sell it at Walmart.

Top the Wasa bread with a layer of tuna salad...

Add slices of tomatoes and sprinkle with fresh cracked pepper....

Throw in a small bowl of Rainier cherries and you have yourself a great meal... Not too many cherries though...

This looks like a meal that would be too healthy, but really, it tastes great also. What started out as a way to eat a healthy lunch has turned into a family favorite in the Nason house. Hope you try it!
