Kids, Jello and Applesauce go hand in hand. Put Jello and Applesauce together and you have a real kid pleaser...

ingredients

2 cups applesauce

Instead of boiling 2 cups of water, measure out 2 cups of applesauce and put in the microwave for 2 minutes.

pour applesauce

Empty the Jello powder into a mixing bowl and pour the heated applesauce over the top. Mix in the same way you would for water, making sure the jello fully dissolves into the applesauce.

pour water

Then take the same measuring cup, don't even rinse it out, and fill it with 2 cups of cold water. Add that to the mixture and stir. If you like thicker jello, only add 1 1/2 cups of cold water.

Pour the applesauce jello into another bowl. I like to pick out a real pretty bowl that contrasts nicely with the color of the Jello. I like color, in case you didn't notice.

pour red jello

See how pretty the red jello is? Both the green and red are so pretty...Now set the bowls in the refrigerator and set for 4 hours or overnight.

The next morning it is all set, nice and firm. We had a church potluck yesterday which is why I made two bowls. Both of them were licked clean...
