Yogurt and Blueberries...
![]()
I have finally found a smooth and creamy yogurt treat that is full of flavor and good nutrition. Greek style yogurt and fresh blueberries are a great combination for a mid-day snack...

I am always on the lookout for new brands of plain yogurt. I usually just buy the cheapest generic brand to make fruit yogurt. The problem with that is that the yogurt is usually tart and not very creamy. So, when I saw this Greek style yogurt, which I have heard of before but never tried, I just had to buy some.

Measure out about a cup of fresh blueberries into a small strainer...

Give them a good rinsing, picking out any stems that might be attached. I don't know how stems taste when they are chopped up with blueberries, but my guess is that it isn't very good...

When I first opened the yogurt carton, I dug my spoon right in, but there was a paper lining the top much to my chagrin...
So peel back the paper first... Nothing bad will happen if you don't. I just felt a little silly...

Pour the rinsed blueberries into a food processor and give it a couple good pulses. About 5 should do it. I like to have chunks of blueberries in my yogurt, but you could puree it too. Which ever you prefer...

Empty the whole carton into the food processor. I used a small container of the 2 % Greek style yogurt, but if you are buying it in a larger container, measure out 1 cup of yogurt.

Pulse the yogurt and blueberries together about 5 times, just to get it started mixing together.

I am trying to be a good girl and not eat so much sugar, so my sweetener of choice is Splenda. I add about two packets to the mixture in the processor and give it another 5 quick pulses. If you prefer real sugar, then I would add about 2 teaspoons. More or less depending upon your sweet tooth!

Reach deep into your kitchen cupboard and find a couple dessert cups. This yogurt is too good to be put into just any old bowl...

Distribute the yogurt evenly into two cups and stare at the beautiful yogurt you have just made. Just looking at it makes my mouth water. That first bite makes my jaw ache... It is so good.

I think for less than five minutes of your time, this little treat is well worth a few dirty dishes. I can't think of anything better, except maybe ice cream...
Happy Eating!
