Winter Happenings...

The Nason Clan hasn't had an update for a while. Here is a little bit of what we have been up to...

The end of February was kind of fun. I guess it would have to be fun if it is your birthday. The kids and Robert made it a really fun day and gave me this huge box to open up. You can see that Katie is very excited about opening it.

For my birthday I asked for chocolate covered strawberries instead of a cake. The kids thought this was a little strange, but once they ate a couple they thought it was a splendid idea. I had been hearing all kinds of radio ads for Sherries Berries and I knew that is what I would like to have. They were delicious and beautiful at the same time. Thanks Robert!

I was actually completely surprised by what Robert got me for my birthday. I never would have guessed it in a million years. But it was definitely something that I would like to have. My old mixer had seen better days and was getting really wobbly. I love it and I can't wait to try it out. Maybe I will get backing into cooking again. Maybe...

A couple days later we decided to take a drive up to Mitchell, SD. We hadn't been back up that way since we first came to South Dakota in 2007 from Alaska. I have to say that it wasn't the best time of the year to see the place, but it was interesting.

If you have not heard of the Corn Palace, let me tell you about it. Mitchell, South Dakota boasts the worlds only Corn Palace. The front pictures are made with corn cobs and the background is made with wheat or some such straw like creature.

Here are a few of the pictures up close...

Across the street from the Corn Palace we saw this giant ear of corn.

What car trip would be complete without the family dog? Sammy came along for the ride and sat in back with the boys. I thought they looked so cute together...
That is about all that happened around here last month. Hopefully March will be warmer, although I am not holding my breath. March always tricks me into thinking Spring is just around the corner. Yesterday it was 30 degrees and there was a considerable amount of melt. I can actually seen some brown grass poking through.
